He doesn’t have any straps. Good thing I have my massive crashbars, he is able to hook his chains on them and together with the one strap I was carrying we get the thing secure… ish on the flatbed.
Tail of the Dragon and Into Georgia
figured I’d check out the Tail of the Dragon. It was a nice enough 11 miles but really not something that I’d go too far out of my way for, I have seen plenty of roads on the way down that have a couple less curves, but much better scenery and I had them all to myself.
A “Quick” Stop in Durham and the Rest of the BRP
Another perfect day in the mountains brings me to the end of the Blue Ridge Parkway and only half an hour from my Hostel in Bryson City
Blue Ridge Parkway to NC
The Blue Ridge Parkway is a really beautiful ride, not nearly as many pullouts as Shenandoah but also not as many tourists, a trade I would make any day.

Back in DC
Having spent two years in DC I still hadn’t taken much advantage of the free museums so, on my second to last day I managed to squeeze in a couple hours. I found pretty much what I was expecting, a whole lot of art and even more gawking tourists.
